Game On in Seattle #6
Released Oct 11th, 2015
USA Today Bestselling author Jami Davenport introduces the Seattle Steelheads football team with this sixth book in her Game On in Seattle sports romance series.
The daughter of one-time rock legends, Emma Maxwell is the good girl of the family, the dutiful sister, the doting aunt, and a dedicated employee in the family party-crashing business. Every Wednesday night at Karaoke, she indulges in her secret fantasy of being a singer. Yet the thrill of being on stage doesn't rival the thrill of a spontaneous liaison with the delectable, yet downtrodden, quarterback of the Seattle Steelheads, Tanner Wolfe, Emma’s long-time crush.
Tanner didn't see it coming--not any of it. He was blindsided--by his dysfunctional family, his plummeting career, and the one thing he least expected--by love. After photos with Emma go viral, Tanner is caught in a lie and tells a bigger one to get out of it. Now he’s shoulder-pads deep in a temporary marriage while struggling to resurrect his disastrous career and reunite his broken family. As time passes, Tanner begins to wonder if temporary is good enough, but he’s made a promise to Emma, one which has nothing to do with marriage vows and everything to do with her Nashville singing career and the end of their relationship.
Will Tanner and Emma take the ball and drive for the win, or will they be permanently relegated to the sidelines as the clock runs out on their temporary marriage?

Interview with Jami
1. What is your favorite part of the writing process? Why?
I writing in layers. The first layer is the plot and the part I dislike the most. I love the layering because that’s when I add the emotions and get deeper into the story.
2. Give us a glimpse of your typical day.
I get up at 6:00 am, drive to work while listening to an audio book, get to work at 7:30, work until 4 pm, go home, have dinner, and write or do promo/social networking for 2-3 hours. I take an hour or two off to watch TV then go to bed and start all over again. Not a very exciting life.
3. What has been your favorite series to write and why?
I loved my Lumberjacks series, but I have to say that my indie series: Game On in Seattle is my favorite so far because I’m in complete control of the books and my marketing. The last few books have gone much more smoothly as I’ve streamlined my process and worked out some earlier proofreading issues.
4. If you were just beginning to write today, knowing what you know now, what would you do differently?
I would have listened to several author friends who encouraged me to go indie three years ago, and I would have self-published the Seattle Lumberjacks series. Had I done that, I’m certain I’d be writing full-time instead of juggling a day job and writing.
5. When you finish your first draft, do you let it marinate or dig right in with editing?
I can’t take the time to do that. I’ll dive right in with layering that very same day.
6. Do you have any funny anecdotes re: self-publishing?
Can’t think of any—YET!
7. What has been the biggest challenge in learning to balance writing, your job with IT, marriage, and your personal time, (if you have any).
Cutting out the stuff that doesn’t make a difference, which means turning down people I like when they ask me to do something on their blog, Facebook party, etc. Also finding time to enjoy life rather than spend it locked in a room writing, but still put out enough books to stay relevant.
USA Today Bestselling Author Jami Davenport writes sexy contemporary and sports romances, including her two new indie endeavors: the Game On in Seattle Series and the Madrona Island Series. Jami lives on a small farm near Puget Sound with her Green Beret-turned-plumber husband, a Newfoundland cross with a tennis ball fetish, a prince disguised as an orange tabby cat, and an opinionated Hanoverian mare. She works in computer support in her day job and juggles too many balls, but she wouldn't have it any other way.
