Crave Me

It’s time for the sole sister in the family to discover love.

CRAVE ME
O'Brien Family #3
Cecy Robson
Releasing Feb 28, 2017

RT Book Reviews proclaims that the O’Brien Family series from award-winning author Cecy Robson “has the hottest brothers ever!” And in Crave Me, it’s time for the sole sister in the family to discover love.

Wren O’Brien isn’t your typical female. As the only girl from a loud Irish family with seven siblings, she prefers fast cars to lip gloss and bad boys to good men. It’s the reason she’s nursing a wounded soul and keeping her distance from a dangerous ex.

Evan Jonah is running an empire and just moved from the lavish thoroughfares of London to the gritty streets of Philadelphia. When he walks into the nearest dealership, he’s expecting to find a reliable vehicle to handle the brutal winters, not a sexy female car rep with killer legs.

Wren doesn’t know why “Hotness in a Suit” asked her out. She doesn’t expect a great time or a night of passion that knocks her on her ass. But that’s exactly what Evan shows her.

She also never counted on how hard and fast she’d fall. But men like Evan—good men with even better hearts—don’t desire tough-talking Philly girls for long.

Evan has never met a woman like Wren. But he’s up for the challenge and ready to prove her wrong.

I love when a fabulous author makes a series around large families. As it turns out, this is book three but reads as a standalone, a fabulous standalone.
Wren O’Brien is a loud, strong-minded woman. Though strong, she’s learned the hard way that a devious mind can best the strongest, hence she’s stayed away from romantic entanglements.
Evan Jonah is essentially sex in a suit, but doesn’t realize his devastating appeal due to his tunnel vision when it comes to work. Moving across the pond from England, he realizes, first hand, that Philly winters demand more than a sports car. When he pulls into a dealership intent on rectifying the situation, he doesn’t expect to meet a beautiful car rep with attitude.
This is the first book of the series I’ve read, and yep, I’ll be going back for more. Ms. Robson has a gift when it comes to writing a scene that makes you feel as if you’re right there with the characters. Both Evan and Wren’s characters were fully developed and fabulously written. There’s no such thing as TSTL with her heroines. The plot was complicated enough to keep you guessing, even though you knew the identity of the villain, again, well rounded. There was great dialogue and interactions between protective family members along with a great wit and sense of humor.
This is the kind of book you start early in the day…and keep reading. What a wonderful job and a fabulous author.
Okay – more please?
Five fantastic stars.

Love Story

Over the course of one wild road trip,
feuding childhood sweethearts get a second chance at love.

LOVE STORY
a Love Unexpectedly novel
Lauren Layne
Releasing February 14th, 2017
Loveswept

Over the course of one wild road trip, feuding childhood sweethearts get a second chance at love in this charming rom-com—a standalone novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Blurred Lines and Good Girl.

When Lucy Hawkins receives a job offer in San Francisco, she can’t wait to spread her wings and leave her small Virginia hometown behind. Her close-knit family supports her as best they can, by handing over the keys to a station wagon that’s seen better days. The catch? The cross-country trip comes with a traveling companion: her older brother’s best friend, aka the guy who took Lucy’s virginity hours before breaking her heart.

After spending the past four years and every last dime caring for his sick father, Reece Sullivan will do just about anything to break free of the painful memories—even if it means a two-week road trip with the one girl who’s ever made it past his carefully guarded exterior. But after long days of bickering in the car turn into steamy nights in secluded motel rooms, Reece learns that, when it comes to Lucy, their story is far from over. And this time, they just might have a shot at a happy ending.

Although listed as a title in the Love Unexpectedly Series, all books in the series stand alone.

Lucy Hawkins is a small-town girl from Virginia who wants bigger and better things. She’s a girl with a plan and the ambition to see it through. The fact that she’s had her heart broken along the way, by her brother’s best friend, won’t stop her. However, lacking the transportation to make her cross-country road trip just might.
When her parents offer her a way to keep her plans intact, she accepts, despite the fact that it comes with a price, a traveling companion who just happens to be the man who took her virginity then broke her heart years ago.
I’ve read this author before, and will always jump at the chance to read her books. This novel is another example of how the author delves into her characters’ minds and weaves a romance that bites as well as makes you laugh. Reece Sullivan’s push/pull, hot/cold driven by hormones and restrained by memories fuels the fire between them. Each character unfolds through a series of events and flashbacks that details their current motivations. The book was well written and had great chemistry as well as dialogue. The only issue I had, and a personal one at that, is the amount of italicized writing. It’s difficult to read in quantity. Other than that, and it’s a small thing, I hope to read for this author again—soon.
Five stars.
