I was given this ARC for an honest review.
After six years as an Army Ranger, Dominic’s army career is
ended by three bullets, two in the chest but the worst shot was through his
right hand. He’d always planned on returning to his one and only true love,
Lily.
Despite physical therapy, he is unable to regain the full
use of his hand, hence unable to secure what he considers suitable employment.
Lily, who has waited years to reclaim her true love,
realizes after Dominic’s career-ending move and the fact that he remains across
the country, she can wait no longer.
When she survives what the police claim a random attack,
fear leaves her an emotional cripple. Re-enter Dominic as a body guard. Though
she knows he’ll leave again after finding her attacker, she can’t resist him.
I found this book entertaining from the first page to the
last. The main characters were realistic, dealing with real-life problems,
combining action, romance, and humor along with the trials of PTSD. Supporting
characters were well developed also and left room for another book without
leaving you with a cliff hanger.
This story is well written and flows very nicely. I would
read more by this author. I’d give it
four stars.
